I listened to “Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence” recently for the first time, and the melody nagged me—it was quite similar to something I had heard before. Turns our Laura Shigihara’s “Build a little world with me” shares a bit of the melody.

To be clear, I don’t think any worse of Laura Shigihara for this—apart from this little motif, they’re quite different tracks, both pleasant in their own way.
